Haven't had a moment to get to the nail salon for your holiday manicure just yet? Don't worry — Jennifer Lopez's most recent mani is basically a crash course for a simple yet elegant holiday manicure that's totally doable at home (or at least something a nail tech can whip up super quick if you find one to squeeze you in). While intricate nail-art designs continue to be the preferred manicure style for most of Hollywood, J Lo has been keeping it classy lately and making a strong case for minimalism.
Her latest nail moment — a soft shimmery base with a glitter ombré tip — was created by none other than Tom Bachik, her key manicurist. Bachik shared a close-up photo on Instagram of J Lo's nail art on Dec. 20, which was actually a throwback to The Tender Bar premiere in LA on Dec. 12. However, because the nails are so light and unassuming, it was hard to see the ombré glitter detailing until Bachik gave us an up-close peek. The design was created on J Lo's signature oval nail shape using Bio Seaweed Gel 3 Step Colour Gel Nail Polish ($18) in the shade "92 Fantasy."
We know it wasn't intentional, but the classic, sparkly manicure is perfect for the holidays and just the inspiration we needed to try our hand at the DIY version this week. You can create the nail-art look using a similar method to the airbrushed nail-art trend. All you need is a base color (sheer white shimmer), a glitter nail polish (see above), and a wedge-shaped makeup sponge to dab the heavy glitter onto the tip of your nail.
