If last year has taught us anything, it is that we can do many things at home. From hair upgrades to vacations, everything is possible, whether in our own four walls or through video calls. Although dyeing hair at home may be an easy task for most people, other beauty items that we often leave to professionals, such as nail art, may not be.

Although we tried the home nail system and the home nail system last year, we want to know how we can complete the fancy or more complicated nail design by ourselves if we can't go to the salon. We contacted celebrity manicurists from all over the country to learn about the nail designs that everyone wears and how to achieve them at home.

This year, all signs point to minimalism. From our clothes to our living spaces, we learned that sometimes the simpler things are better-this also applies to our nails.

"This year, I saw a lot of colors, but they are all harmonious! For example, when creating a design, [create] the color combination uses warm green and contrasting dark green, and then add complementary colors to link them together, maybe sky or light blue Color," Sarah Chue, a celebrity manicurist, told us.

On the other hand, the more we stay at home, the more likely we are to become bold.

"I saw all kinds of interesting random nail art! People are working more and more at home, and they are more and more bold in color. If you are in the office, you may not rock that neon yellow, but at Zoom meetings You can hide them well," said Erica Marton, a celebrity manicurist. "Before Covid, everything was related to lips-from bright red to black, everything happened! Now everything is related to eyes and nails!"

Whether you want to try a new style or just need some nail art inspiration, we will consult an expert for everything you need. Read on to learn how to realize your dream nail design at home, regardless of your skill level.

Prefer to skip touch-ups and learn about trends without spending too much time or money to give yourself a mani? Fake nails may be your best choice.

"Kiss Nail products have a variety of full coverage nail tips and many nail sets, you can match them as you like," Los Angeles manicurist Carla Kay told Shop TODAY. "These nails also have different nail sizes and shapes."

Elle is a celebrity manicurist whose clients include Jennifer Lopez, Chrissy Teigen and Blake Lively. She told us that Kiss has hundreds of options. "It's easy to press and remove," she said. "A manicure of 15 minutes or less can be completed without sitting for hours."

Marton, who lives in Florida and New York City, said that Sally Hansen's stripes can save anyone who wants to create complex designs, and she herself uses them many times. She said that her colleagues like ColorStreet, which also produces nail polish strips in a variety of designs and colors.

Want to boldly use animal prints? You don't need any fancy tools to achieve it. This lacquer can be layered on solid colors to produce a printing-like effect, which will cause cracks on its own.

"My favorite right now is probably Zoya's Leopard Spots Topper; it's so cool and so easy!" Marton said. "[It] is very suitable for [an] family animal prints."

"Aluminum foil decoration and rhinestones are a popular trend in 2021," Marton told us. "I really think everyone is relaxing their hair, so to speak, just want to express their beauty in a fun way; we all know we all need a little fun!"

These double-ended pens can easily pick up gems and other beads, and come in two packs; they are also the choice of Amazon jewelry pencils.

Marton also said that this year's fashion trend is aluminum foil accents, and recommended this set of suits with 10 different designs. Not only are they easy to apply, but they can be used on up to 40 different nails.

Like to keep it basic? Using these sticker guides, you can easily make your own French manicure at home. Marton said that they allow you to easily apply colors other than white on the tips of your nails, which is another popular nail art trend we have seen this year.

"We must have noticed a lot of simplicity in nail design lately. We like to use vibrant and interesting colors on small dots, hearts or flowers on nude or transparent polished nails," the founder and CEO of Varnish Lane Officer Lauren Dunne, tell us. "Toothpicks are a great way to achieve these small dots or designs, and most people already have it at home. If you are looking for a slightly larger dot, you can also use the tip on the open side of the hairpin."

Prefer to have a more stable grip when creating nail designs? These dotted pens may be worth considering. "You can buy a management tool on Amazon for a few dollars," Chue said. "You only need to dip the dots into the color of your choice, and then press on the nails, and you will have a perfect circle dot."

If you want to create real works of art on your nails, using brushes specifically designed for the process can help you create more complex designs without breaking the bank or resorting to stickers.

"For other designs, such as freehand drawing French [nail art], creating shapes, lines, and almost anything, a great basic tool would be a short-bristle brush called a detailer," Chue said. "It's also great to have a deep understanding of the small details, hence the name."

Chue said that mixed greens, such as Essie's "Off Tropic" and "Mojito Madness", are a way of using complementary colors in nail art. These green tones are the perfect combination to welcome spring, but you can also switch between different blues and other options on the color wheel.

Kay called this coat one of her favorites. It provides a strong gloss and durable gel-like finish.

Kay also pointed out that she is a fan of INM's coat. It can extend the life of home nail art or be used as a clear coat alone to add a little gloss.
